Norwegian summer can be everything; warm, cold, windy, sunny, rainy, cloudy… Our vacation on an island off the coast has had everything, even within some days the variation have been amazing! I feel this to be fresh and amusing, although we would wish for some more sun & warm weather to be able to swimming in the ocean more often.
But it has given us lot of time for small “exploration” trips both by foot and by boat. And time for knitting in front of the fireplace! I had some very nice yarn from France, a bit more bulky than I prefer, but I chose it due to colors and the softness. So I made this “simple” hat (just cables and stripes) which turned out to be useful even in July…
Now I transform the pattern to thinner yarn and I have spent some time trying to write it up as a understandable pattern which I “test knit” myself just as it is… Will let you know how it goes!
Norwegian summer sure sounds a lot like Dutch summer! I really love the hat 🙂

Thanks! And fun to hear that such a summer is not uncommon south of Norway as well!😊

Wow. Summer in Norway. I can’t even come imagine. You need to come visit us in Northern California. Knitting by the pool can be quite nice. I would love to visit Norway at some point. Looks so beautiful and serene.

Ahhh! Knitting by the pool… sounds great! This summer has been colder than usual; we use to have weeks with temperatures in the 20’s (celcius…), but not this year 😦 But it is fresh and vacation is always good regardless of temperature 🙂 And let me know if you ever plan to travel close to Norway!
