Patterns and colors in persian type carpets are a great inspiration. But one thing I find “inspiring” is the small flaws you can find in the patterns when you look closely. I have been told that this is the hallmark of handcraft; a small fingerprint from the maker of the item. I have embraced this, and I think keeping small mistakes is just a part of the beauty of a handmade garment. I struggled with the lace pattern in my Little Miss Summer socks, probably because i always have had a hard time following pattern descriptions constantly… So the lace part of the socks ended up with far more mistakes than any persian carpet would ever had, but my daughter loved them and I am ready for the next items! And thinking that next lace pattern will work out better for me, hopefully…
